_Seamless integration of PTC Codebeamer and PTC RV&S at Schaeffler

As Schaeffler’s long-standing partner, TT PSC was commissioned to design and develop a solution to integrate the parallel ALM systems from PTC—RV&S and PTC Codebeamer.

Challenges

• Effective cooperation between globally distributed teams
• Use of PTC Codebeamer parallel to the established ALM system PTC RV&S in complex mechatronics projects.
• Ensuring a consistent exchange of data and information between the system and software development process by using both ALM systems in parallel

Solution

• An innovative application (the TraceApp) was developed using the PTC ThingWorx platform
• The trace app creates traces and ensures complete traceability throughout the system lifecycle
• The traces generated in the TraceApp are bidirectional, version- and tamper-proof and reference the respective source systems.

• Full traceability: The bidirectional traces created by the application track every change and update, providing full transparency on the progress and history of the project.
