FOPCO, a Taiwan-based leader in oil products and feedstuff manufacturing with revenue exceeding NTD 14.5B (USD 450M), operates primarily in edible oil processing, raw materials, and animal feed sectors. Their Taichung facility spans 569,000 sq.ft. (53,000 sq.m.) across three factories.

Since 1986, FOPCO has prioritized customer trust, employee well-being, and quality control. To achieve that, they emphasize very high-quality standards, health and sustainability, and ongoing RnD activities, collaborating with academic institutions for innovation.

To fuel further growth in Asia, FOPCO sought solutions leveraging modern technologies to enhance operational and sales efficiency, optimize production, and improve business performance.

Business challenge

Based on FOPCO goals, the primary objectives include:

  • Enhancing operational efficiency by automating and integrating processes across departments (sales, production, quality, management). Particularly important goal was the improvement of communication channels between field sales representatives and the back-office to allow for swift response to customer demands. This not only increase end-customer satisfaction but also shortens the sales cycle.
  • Enabling data-driven decision-making by giving teams instant access to accurate data. The goal was to improve the customer experience by providing all required details (e.g. regarding delivery time, logistics, discounts) in short time. This should also enable other departments downstream to participate in the process and to analyze data from all steps (incl. complaints, demand).
  • Optimizing operational excellence using AI for improvement of production parameter and quality prediction, thereby increasing overall business performance The aim was to help process engineering and quality assurance teams, to make their work more efficient and make better decisions on the most crucial parameters (mainly on soybean oil refining processes) and predicted quality issues (to avoid scrap and waste cost).

Our solution

Our tailored solution allows users from different departments to collaborate with each other on various steps of selected processes (sales process, process engineering, quality assurance). All that using user-friendly interfaces in their mobile phones or via web browsers. It also simplifies and digitizes these processes and workflows. Key business capabilities include:

  • Sales: Enables easy order placement via mobile devices and rapid access to relevant data and documents (e.g. certificates) via user-friendly screens, enhancing overall sales efficiency. The application enables unified communication between sales and the rest of the organization and centralizes it in single place, in a paperless form – which allows to monitor and analyze the process itself.
  • Production and Quality: Enable process engineers and quality assurance to use AI-driven analysis and insights to drive operational excellence, mainly in two areas:
    • To recommend the most optimal process parameters of soybean oil processing – these insights formulated on the basis of historical data, real-time production monitoring, raw material inspections and industrial analytics.
  • Communication: Improve notifications through popular platforms such as LINE apps and email, as well as our application, to ensure timely and effective exchange of information across the organization.
